We hope to bring some new and exciting theatre events to a variety of sectors of the community over the next few years, by working with new writers, creating exciting and accessible theatre for everyone and exploring the arts through workshops and performance.
Creative Minds, without being an outreach programme, is thrilled to be able to bring theatre to those who may not find it accessible, interesting or enjoyable.
The Shakie's Awake Project is for children aged 5 - 105 and will provide an opportunity to understand, create and perform in a Shakespeare Production each Summer.
Educational resources are provided alongside these projects.
Our Theatre Workshops are primarily for children to explore the varied world of theatre. These workshops are offered at Summer Festivals which are then brought to life in a live performance by Creative Minds and the audience are invited to participate in the production at various points through the show.
Show packs are provided alongside these workshops.
Our support of new writers is on show in our Blank Page Project and offers diverse opportunities to individuals which are discovered and developed throughout the process of workshop, improvisation and rehearsed readings.
These events may be open to all or subject to audition. The final say is from the writer who ultimately holds copyright of the materials used.
We are delighted to be working in collaboration with educational groups, youth theatres and sixth form colleges to present devised pieces of theatre and workshopped texts.
